We came from the Black hills, driving into yellowstone via the southern route on Hwy 14. The canyon on the west side of the mountains is WOW!

Take time for this side track to your trip. East of Lovell, stop at the visitor's center to get a great brief film of what to see. The lady who runs the VC said they've had sightings of the horses every day. Then, east again to the turn off and head north on WY 37 at about 9:30 am. When... More

Because we wanted to see the Big Horn Medicine Wheel, we took the northern route over the Big Horns (14/14A) rather than the southern route. Great place to camp & ride 4 wheelers. Stayed at the Tie Flume campground and it was nice. Down side is there is ABSOLUTELY no cell service or internet for about 30 minutes before you reach your destination. There was a satalite phone that you could pay to use at $1 a minute at the nearest stop(maybe 10 minutes away).... More
