We hiked there a few weeks ago - early July 2007. Group of 6 ranging from 18 to 55 yrs. 6.5 mile rough rock road to get to the trailhead. You could probably get there in almost any vehicle, but you want a high profile vehicle to get over the rocks. Very beautiful, somewhat strenuous hike for a city dweller.... more
