Wekiva Springs is a natural cold spring. There is a great swimming area and sunbathing area. There are also covered pavillions and grills for a great day of picnicking in the park. :You can swim, people watch, bird watch, rent canoes, hike, mountain bike on the trails, or just relax in nature.

Perhaps I have the only kids who came to Orlando on vacation and asked to canoe instead of go to Disney World, but for less than $20, our family of four had a little more than two hours of peace, quiet, easy paddling, and incredible wildlife viewing. We saw plenty of gators, heard them grunting, witnessed remarkable species of birds... More

Great place to rent kayaks or canoes, swim in the cold springs, snorkel a bit, and soak up some sun on the grassy hill overlooking the springs. Also miles and miles of trails for running/hiking/exploring.

We visited in mid-April, so we missed the manatees but got to swim in the large pool, which was ... refreshingly cool, but lovely and our two small children loved it. We walked the nature trail and enjoyed the wildlife and the tranquility of it all. I don't know of anything like these State Parks with their boils, pools, well... More

This park features a large pool of spring water to swim in with the family. I have been lead to believe the snorkiling here is excellent though I have not tried it myself. For swimming, it is a large area with plenty of room and freezing cold water. Polar Bears welcome. but further down the river there is an excellent... More

Loved, loved, loved this State Park! We got to see manatees in their winter home since the spring waters are always at 72 degrees. As we entered the park, the park ranger told us there were over 300 manatees. The park has facilities for overnight camping, however, we were just visiting for the day. They have picnic tables where you... More

I found this park a little too crowded and somewhat disappointing. On the plus side there was an excellent walk from the park out into the countryside, which enabled you to get away from the general hustle and bustle.
