About an hour from the city, the Belize Zoo has large, natural habitats for interesting birds and animals. The inhabitants are free to roam about, and often it takes a bit of time to find them -- so natural is the setting. This, of course, adds to the enjoyment. The Zoo and TEC are seperate, but located close to one another. If you want to lodge at TEC, you can go to the zoo, and they will call for someone from TEC to come pick you up.
