Very informative, I learnt a lot on my trip. I did not know so much about Belize until I went to the museum.
This was a nice break form the heat of the city. They had a very nice exhibit about Hurricane Hattie and its affect on Belize City.
Great Museum! Lots of interesting facts, the building itself is a history! Love it!
Housed in a former jail, the museum features Informative displays and photographs showing the devastation caused by hurricane Haiti. There a few Mayan artifacts, an insect and a stamp collection. Worth a visit.
I liked being able to take photos in the museum, but flash is not allowed.
The museum is quite small which prevented a wide range of exhibits being shown.

This museum is in a building that used to be a jail. Seeing the size of the rooms gives an appreciation for how hard it would have been to be a prisoner here in the past. We went on a Saturday morning. The place was dead (in fact, the gates out front looked locked - our hotel told us it was closed). There were some pretty good exhibits although would only plan to spend a few hours there.
A visit takes less than an hour. There are lots of stamps, some MAYA jade, past hurricane photos and some propaganda for the current political regime.
We had an extra hour to kill before heading back to San Pedro on the ferry so we made the quick walk over to the museum and checked it out. Certainly very interesting stuff and a great way to kill an hour. Entrance fee was $5USD per person.
