The Guatemala's "white house" or "casa rosada" Its the national palace... Since its green, its called EL GUACAMOLON! Like Guacamole! Besides the political status -in fact, it never had and probably never will have a good 'president' ... Its another gem to visit!

The Palacio Nacional is located on the same plaza with the national Cathedral and the Mercado Central so it is very convenient to see all of these together. While it is open 7 days a week, it is by guided tour only and the English language tours are available only M-F at 9AM and 3PM. I went on the weekend... More

Parts of it show beauty of the centuries of use of the Palacio National, which was the governmental headquaters until recently. The Moorish fountains and use of water is excellent. There are numerous murals showing the conquest of the Mayan by the Spanish and then the growth together of the two cultures; the Mayans may not have understand how they... More

The Palacio Nactional was an interesting stop, but I would not make a big effort to see it if it wasn't included on a tour itinerary.

The murals are gorgeous! Plus you get to lear a lot about Guatemalan history. There is a daily ceremony that takes place where a white rose is replaced as a symbol of peace.

One of the oldest buildings with history in the heart of the city. This used to be the presidential palace.

Great artwork and fun historical education about Guatemala. Not an expensive attraction to visit if you come to the City.
