This is my go to beach for snorkeling. There are 2 free parking lots. If you come before 10 AM you will always get a spot. During the day, usually get one, but might have to wait a bit. There is a place for you to park the car very near the beach to load and unload all your stuff.... More

My friend and I went for two days back-to-back because we had such a fun time the first day. An amazing variety of fish and sea creatures. Lots of sea turtles and moray eels. We spent hours and didn't get bored one bit! Just keep snorkeling back and forth, exploring different sections, and take your time. You'll be amazed at... More

Dont pay a dive boat - when you can walk a few feet in the water and see fish of every color in the rainbow. Each time I went out I felt that I saw something new. I was especially thrilled to see 3 different varieties of moray eels. Awesome! Also saw 4-5 turtles here as well. I highly recommend.... More

Ulua Beach has fantastic snorkeling for kids and is a great place to teach children how to snorkel. The northern end of the beach has a very good reef with many fish. This area has a shallow sandy bottom that meets right up with the rocks. I taught my six year old son to snorkel at this spot. I was... More

A great all purpose beach with above average snorkeling. We have been coming here for 15 years. Lots of fish and frequent turtles along the reef when the water is clear. Wait 2 or 3 days after a rain for sand to settle. Right now, 1/13/2012 both parkin lots are closed due to construction. A small lot at the top... More

The snorkeling wasn't great at the Fairmont Hotel beach (Polo) so we went a few miles north to Ulua Beach and saw all kinds of fish and turtles. The parking is not great, but you can wait for a spot and the water was a bit crowded. The beach is very pretty, too.

We did a shore dive here. This is a nice beach entry, no rocks to crawl over with all your gear. There's a shower to rinse yourself and gear and a nice lawn to let it drip dry a bit before packing it back into your rental car/Jeep. The beach itself was clean and seemed very popular.

Easy access, good parking and a nice sandy beach. The snorkeling is excellent with good visibility and lots of fish at the rocky points. There are a few small rocks in the shoreline swim area, but nothing with sea urchins or coral. A great beach for little kids since the waves are tiny. The only thing keeping this from being... More

We went snorkeling at Ulua Beach on morning during our recent Maui vacation. We saw beautiful fish and coral and the entire family felt it was nicer than our expensive Molokini Crater snorkeling trip. Go to this beach early in the morning before the sand gets churned up and snorkel near the rocks. Really nice, and free!
