If you want to see what the island was like before the condos, high-rise hotels and imported Waikiki sand beaches take a slow walk through this valley. Look at the map and take the longer route to the falls. Take the little shady side paths that 90% of folks avoid on their sprint to the falls and listen and smell... More

Since this is a tourist attraction, it was well planned out to make sure everybody could experience it. Get there early, the walk to the falls does take a while and cars are not coming and going. There is a fee upon entering but there are discounts available. The trail is fully paved and easy for strollers, wheelchairs ect. There... More

The Waimea Park was a nice stroll up a long trail. You can get a cart ride but, that kind of defeats the purpose of seeing all the foliage that you can't see in the midwest. The day we went the swimming at the waterfall was prohibited so that was a bummer(heavy rains made the current too strong). The waterfall... More

We went to the falls today and it was super easy to get to, parking was free probably because we got there at 3pm. We walked through the 'trail' [asphalt] up to the water fall. The rocks are sometimes sharp so I highly recommend getting water shoes. You can't jump off the water fall unless youre a trained professional. But... More

Primarily a garden, Waimea Valley Audubon Center features tropical plants of Hawaii as well as varieties from around the world. Near the head of the valley park is an attractive waterfall where divers and hula dancers put on shows throughout the day. A tram takes visitors to this show giving commentaries about the grounds along the way. The grounds of... More

It has been almost 3 years since visiting the park but I have a beautiful montage of photos of the flowers hanging on my wall that I enjoy everyday. There is a wide variety of plants from all over the Pacific Rim. There is lots of shade along the gentle climb to the waterfalls. Take along a picnic...there are tables... More

We visited the falls about 8 years ago for our 10th aniversary then again about a week ago. It used to be privately owned. They had a tram to take you up if the hike was too much for you, we were yound so we did the hike. This trip we went back wanting the tram but it is gone.... More

If you really want to go see a waterfall in Hawaii, then I guess you should go see this one. The waterfall is about 30 feet in height. Some people working there said that sometimes people dive 45 feet of the cliffs into the water. Would have been neat to see that but we were very late in the day... More

Summary: I thought Waimea Falls would be a tourist trap, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a really easy hike through some really pretty botanical gardens. It wasn't overly crowded or overpriced, either. In fact, we decided to buy the annual membership. We figured we need to go 3 times in order to get our money's worth, and we... More
