We arrived around 8:30 in the morning, I recommend getting there early for good parking. Watch out for the waves, they can knock you out. Bring some drinks and snacks and enjoy your time there, we had a great time! A little tip: We brought a bar of soap from our hotel that we could use in the outdoor showers... More

Great around the rocks for snorkelling in the summertime, parking can be tough but the spinner dolphins will make it worth while. While swimming there were literally 10-15 right under me!

Coming into winter season the beach was reasonably flat. Got there nice and early and got parking. After 45 minutes of swimming, the ocean got very nasty. I was dumped by a massive shore break and my back was broken ruining my honeymoon! Spent the next 3 weeks in queens hospital till I could get a lying down flight home.... More

Very pretty sign, but very crowded when we went and there is a lot of shallow reef that makes it hard to snorkle or swim.

This is a nice, clean, well maintained beach with parking. It was busy, so we had to park up the street at the Catholic church (leave a donation for them in gratitude for the free parking!). Nice sand, lifeguards, big waves. At least when we were there, there was no undertow. The previous days they had seen big surf, so... More

Great place to hangout on the North Shore, but Parking is TOUGH. Snorkeling here in the Summer is gorgeous though. I've spotted HUGE Giant Sea Turtles

I have been to every Hawaiian island, and Waimea Bay is tied for my #1 thing to do. The other is the Zodiac Rides out of Kona on the Big Island. Waimea has something for everyone! Bouldering (rock climbing) on the beach - Check. Great snorkeling - Check. Jumping off a huge rock into the ocean - Check. He'll myself... More
