We recently spent a week in Marrakech and wanted to visit the Atlas Mountains for a day but preferred to have a private and exclusive excursion, just the two of us without sharing the transport with others. My traveling companions are definitely not into trekking, but even they truly enjoyed walking in the Atlas Mountains with me on Christmas Day last year! I travelled in a party of 8 adults to Marrakech and booked a day trip to the Atlas Mountains with Majestic Locations who are a local company in Marrakesh. They can be found on the ilovemarrakech web site. They were excellant value and provided a really superb day out which included a superb lunch and tea in a Berber village... more

Left Imlil at around 6am. We were told it would take 4 hours to reach the refuge. It took us 6 hours. We are not mountain climbers nor are we out of shape. We live in Toronto which is at sea level so I think the altitude slowed us down. We kept a slow pace, and enjoyed the scenery. The... more
