I'm a fit 33 year old American (English / Spanish fluent) who ust got back from Merrekech, Madrid, and Granada. Having lived in DC and NYC I did not feel overwhelmed by Merrekech - I found the hustle and bustle charming, especially as it was MUCH easier to navigate (and safer!) than Havana-Cuba, Mexico City, and downtown Acapulco. That said,... more

Sitti Fatma, Ourika Valley. Outstanding views and breathtaking scenerey, and no poluion!! Waterfalls were amazing. Walking up towards the cascades we passed a small hotel/guest house, called Dar Elysha, and the smell of bacon was to much to resist! If you want to enjoy nature, don't go to Ourika and certainly not to Setti Fatma. Too much people. As it is near Marrakech, lot of tourists go there and also locals. There are nicer places in the Atlas Mountains, where you can relax and enjoy. more

We went with Sahara Expeditions that can be found just off the main square for 200 Dh pp. A couple of words of warning, our driver asked us if we wanted to stop at various shops en-route, we... more

After 2 or 3 days of brutal exposure to culture shock in Marrakech, most visitors feel they need to take a day trip to exhale and recharge their batteries. A much sought after location is Oureka Valley__ a mountain resort, some 46 kilometers away. It's an easy ride into a quiet and green valley. Most travel agents offer a standard... more
