I only got to see the exterior of this mosque as it was closed when we got there, but I have to say the minaret and the building from outside were superb! I would have loved to see the interior too, but because of a shortage of time, we couldnt hang on for any longer. A great place to visit... more

Yes, it's magnifiicent, it's one of the great buildings of the world and almost overpowering in its size. But it cost c. US$850 million, was built for the King's 60th birthday and right next to it is a large shanty town. Can you say "national priorities?". One person on our tour described the contrast as "obscene". more

The Hassan II mosque is the main (and practically only) tourist attraction in Casablanca and it is well worth a visit. The Hassan II is practically the only mosque you can visit as a non-Muslim, but you have to see it as part of a guided tour, which run at 9am, 10am, 11am and 2pm.
