Best is to go when u are hungry, at around 8pm where everybody is out, the foods stalls are there and bbqs are booming. You will get pressured to eat but dont take it as agression, just have fun with it. We went to Hicham #97, the guys were cool and fun. Its never gonna be great cuisine, but its... More

We loved the famous Square.. It is very different at day and night. The smell,s the noise, the banter is superb.. I must have been introduced to Jamie Olivers Brother's foodstall a dozen times! A word of advice though, do keep your personal belongings close to you and secure as we did see a couple robbed of thier wallet, but... More

I genuinely have no clue what the people who rate the Jemaa el Fna square well on Trip Advisor are talking about. Reading through the 'Terrible' comments brings back the horrible memories of this place much better. Greedy, agressive, pushy con men and women, purely there to try and rob as many tourists as possible. Horribly abused monkeys and de... More

Loved the madness of the place but disliked the fact that anything you do you generally have to tip ie. asking for a photo to be taken you have to tip the person who takes it.

There is plenty of action in the square. Snake charmers, food peddlers - especially after dark when they grill food for you in the square, monkeys, tooth pullers, etc. They can be extremely pushy and no is not a word they understand. If you are near a monkey the owner will throw it on your shoulder and demand money. An... More

With the right attitude this is great fun, but it's best to keep it in small doses.

The square dates back to the 12th century. It was sort of entertainment district at the time where story tellers and snake charmers , come to entertain the crowds. This centuries old tradition is still alive one is taken back to the middle ages. During the day it is mainly occupied by orange juice stalls at night it is more... More

If Jemaa el Fna used to be "magical" to me it seems the magic has been lost. It's such a pity, it could be great, but rather than feeling authentic it just seems like an incredibly overpriced "show" for the tourists, who the locals are keen to fleece of as many dirhams as possible. As others have said, its a... More

The main place to explore - be prepared for chaos! Food vendors selling snails, sheep brain soup but also meats, cous cous etc to eat with the locals, We paid £20 for dinner for two at a stall though so not the cheapest...prices are on the menu and the same list is given to the locals, was tasty though as...
