Just loose yourself in the tiny streets, sample the local delicacy of camel's head its sound disgusting but its delicious
watch out, large bills mean they want to seel you more and not give change, so go with smaller denominations. I bought saffron and argon oil there and got good deals. Also watch as some of the clothes is not local, but imported from China
Currently undergoing rennovation (May 2012). Worth a visit, but do not be tempted to buy inflated prices of things that you will never use in your home country, or you will just throw away or leave in your garage or attic.
Guys if you do not like crowd do not go. But is you do not matter, feel free. there is here a real flavor of african/arabian souk. You will definitely enjoy narrow streets and bumping into (freindly) people. This is life indeed...
Completely different atmosphere from Marrakech and Fes, this medina is nowhere near as touristy, claustrophobic or frenzied. You can actually do some decent shopping here without having to chase off 'guides' or being subjected to a hard sell. The prices may not be the absolute cheapest but the value is still pretty good.
The medina of Rabat is a lot smaller then the ones we visited in Meknes, Casablanca and Fes but in the evening there is a great ambiance there!
Nice medina, not as commercialized as Casablanca and less manic than Marrakech, but Fes is still my favorite of the four
A traditional souq that sells just about everything, leather, paintings, jewelry, spices, nuts, etc. We visited the medina on a weekday at about eleven am, good timing. It was busy, but not crowded and we were able to get LOTS of photos. Take a walk around before you commit to buying, as we found a leather purse for almost half...

The artisan souk is lovely and the bargaining is much less stressful than in Marrakesh or Fez. Some streets have great Rife hot off the griddle and the bustling vegetable market street will also be a great place to wander
