We took the trip from Pretoria to Cape Town. We thought it was a wonderful way to see South Africa. The Rovos Rail service is probably the best I have ever seen in terms of attention to customers. The only less than fantastic aspect of the journey was the stop in Kimberley, which we found to be not so interesting. more

Travelled on this train from Pretoria to Victoria Falls at the beginning of November 2008. The station in Pretoria is amazing and the train is really quite something. We had booked in a deluxe class which we were glad of as the Pullman suites would have been quite cramped. The service was excellent and the staff who delivered it also... more

Rovos Rail from Capetown to Pretoria and it was the highlight of of our African Holiday. The train passengers were a fantastic mix of ages and nationalities (I was concerned it would be mostly a very much older age group). Wow. We took the Pretoria to Cape Town train and were amazed with the opulence immediately upon stepping onto the Pretoria station- from that moment on we were catered to, way past the point of overindulgence. The staff took care of EVERYTHING for us. We never had to touch our bags after arriving- they even loaded them into the taxi... more

We have just returend from the journey, Cape Town to Pretoria.We docked about 10 hours before the fire. Firstly I would like to say how sad we were to hear of the fire. The carriages were beautiful. We were upgraded and when we asked why, we were told that the other passengers had paid half price for the same journey... more
