Even if you stick with the mandatory guide/tour of the museum, you will not find out about everything in it...there are very few signs explaining things. Very far, worth a visit if you're out of things to do...

And you thought 2400m is high .. Entoto is 3100 ... and just a half hour taxi ride away. Along the ay is an area with lots of souvenir shops. The church on top is lovely. I guess the views from there depend on time of year.

Do not be too hopeful of seeing a great emperor's palace. It is just a few basic and fairly large huts. Wonderful hill to view Addis, hitch hike and visit various old churches. This is the place where Addis was originally became the seat and started building the city by the then emperor Menelik II. This is a must visit place for tourists and I guarantee you, you will enjoy it.
