Amazing view of the city but those in my group were a little saddened by the poverty we saw while driving up the hill. We saw many women carrying backbreaking loads of wood for example. While at the top, there were many people begging for money and trying to sell us handmade items. Despite that, it was a great stop... More

Even if you stick with the mandatory guide/tour of the museum, you will not find out about everything in it...there are very few signs explaining things. Very far, worth a visit if you're out of things to do...

Nice area of Addis Ababa with a view of the whole city. It would be even nicer if it hadn't been for the hordes of beggars preying on the tourists. Also, seeing many local people taking away the bunches of wood made me a bit concerned but apparently the are not allowed to break any branches, just pick up what... More

And you thought 2400m is high .. Entoto is 3100 ... and just a half hour taxi ride away. Along the ay is an area with lots of souvenir shops. The church on top is lovely. I guess the views from there depend on time of year.

Do not be too hopeful of seeing a great emperor's palace. It is just a few basic and fairly large huts. However, if you go past the palace and the church after about 500 metres there is a white church on the left (forgotten the name). Visitors are welcome and it really is a beautiful place to see. They even... More

Wonderful hill to view Addis, hitch hike and visit various old churches. This is the place where Addis was originally became the seat and started building the city by the then emperor Menelik II. This is a must visit place for tourists and I guarantee you, you will enjoy it.

It's easier to breathe at the top of Addis! It was a bit of a pain getting up here, as most taxis (Lada's) can't drive up here as it's too steep. There's a church at the top, along with some nice countryside. The view was beautiful, but you should obviously come at some time other than midday if you want... More

We often come walking up here in our weekends to breathe in the fresh air. It's about half an hour, maybe less from Addis and it's sometimes like an enchanted forest....depending on what mood you're in! There are a lot of kids up here begging for money. The new batch of NGO workers have apparently been giving them Birr and... More
