This little shop tucked under a building on Bombo road carries beautiful colorful woven baskets and other handicrafts. Compared to the baskets behind the National Theater, the quality is far superior and worth the trip. Bring cash - no credit cards. Wish I could have bought the huge baskets to take home - they were magnificent.

Just near the center of town, Uganda Crafts is the best place to pick up gifts for friends and family. This shop is nestled off Bombo road, so be sure to look for the sign. I like it because they support local artisans and focus on creating opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged artisans. You actually know that you are making a difference when you buy from them. Make sure to drop by on Friday morning, artisans sit outside the shop... More
