It was pioneered in Pokhara, Nepal by renowned bird trainer and paraglider, Scott Mason. Rescued and rehabilitated raptors such as Egyptian Vultures are trained as part of an award winning enrichment program, to fly with paragliders and, by using their incredible ability to conserve energy, can guide the paragliders to the best thermals. They will then land on the passengers gloved hand for an inflight reward. Parahawking is a perfect mix of adventure, eco-tourism and conservation. A Parahawking Tandem Experience is more than just a paragliding flight with a trained bird, it's an education into vultures and the problems they face in the wild. Proceeds from Parahawking tandem flights go directly towards vulture conservation projects in Nepal. « less

Awesome, just awesome. I flew with Bob and Jessica and it was just unbelievable. When you see the vulture fly around you and gently land on your extended arm to get food, it is... jus awesome. I could not recommend enough. If you are in Pokhara (or anywhere in Nepal, just take a short flight to Pokhara) and like intense... More

We just returned from Nepal and certainly the flight with Bob and Scott was the highlight in Pokhara. I have never done any paragliding and/or fed a bird of prey before but the confidence that the team showed in what they are doing, kept me relaxed all the way through. I was expecting the flight more "turbulent" but I guess... More

I recently had the chance to do a parahawking flight. It's was amazing! I've done paragliding before (as a tandem passenger) but the parahawking was so much better! To be able to fly with an Egyptian Vulture, soaring with you, eating from your hand, is an experience not to be missed in this lifetime. It's truly unforgettable. Some people think... More

Another amazing experience with the Blue Sky Paragliding team! Today's parahawking flight with Bob was the second for me, the first being just two months ago. The parahawking youtube video which Blue Sky Paragliding had put up resulted in a jolt of spontaneity on my part. A week after viewing the video, I made my journey to Pokhara with my... More

I can't imagine anyone writing a review for parahawking that is less than five stars......I wish I could give it a thousand! Such an amazing experience! My mother sent me an e-mail with a YouTube video link of parahawking. When I watched it I was in awe. I KNEW I had to do it! Barely 3 months later I was... More

I recently returned from Nepal, when in Pokhara I went para hawking, it was a great experience, after reading trip advisor I booked straight away and it was a great idea. I did the falconry course with Tracy first which gave me an insight of the birds, then Jessica was my pilot with Kevin . Great day, Tracy and Jessica... More

What an absolute privilege it was to experience something so incredibly unique and beautiful while contributing to something so important, in Nepal no less! Scott Mason has done an outstanding job in creating and combining awareness with adventure which results in an incredibly enriching experience. Damu was my 'driver' and was very professional when giving instructions and direction before and... More

Having been paragliding before, I was keen to have another go. When I found out about the concept of parahawking in Pokhara, I made the decision to head over from Kathmandu specifically for this reason. I combined a package including accommodation, falconry lesson and parahawking flight. I highly recommend to anyone who goes parahawking to also spend some time with... More

I came across Parahawking in January 2012 whilst visiting Pokhara. I have a fascination of birds of prey and when I saw the bilboard in town advertising this totally unique expercience to fly WITH a bird of prey, especially an Egyptain Vulture, I just had to go. I met Scott and the team and had a fantastic flight with Kevin... More
