Yangmingshan has it all!.... be sure to try some of the mountain foods and at least get your feet into one of the hotsprings. Time off of the beaten paths will reward you with stunning scenery, waterfalls, birds and a peaceful respite from Taipei.

Was looking forward to visit this place since I was there in 1974. It was beautiful then and so I made a trip to see whether it is still the same, but it was not maintain properly. Not worth a visit at all.

Interesting that such a wild place is so close to a major city like Taipei. It's a great break from the busy city, and some nice restaurants along the way with great views.

It's the Callalily season, and one could the callalily fields. I guess most visitors enjoyed most is the self-harvesting fun, after which one could bring home the flowers at NT10 each. Another must do is to eat the local vegetables in one of the restuarants. However, probably it's a weekend, it was very crowded, and besides taxi, the other public... More

a 90minute drive from Taipei City to see mother nature. nothing interesting except some stopovers for a hot spring "soak" during your way back. if you do not have time to go outside of Taiwan, then this would be it. if you do .. there are plenty more places to explore.

It is a very calm and relaxing place. But the maps are not very clear, and it is easy to get lost.

If you have a free day in Taipei and want to escape of hot – this park is the best choice. This is the large and impressive park with streams, waterfall, beautiful flowers… everything to feel harmony and peace. I’d recommend to take a taxi from Beitou metro station to top of the hill where park is located.
