This is the first night market in Taipei. Remember to try the fried soft-shell crab from this store "Nan Wang" which means "Not Easily Forgotten" (Translated). You can go there by MRT (Alight at Hou Shan Pi Station) or TRA (Alight at SongShan Station). Visit also the temple beside the market.

The halal food is Allah-din Indian Pakistani Kitchen Restaurant. Finally halal food here at the market! :-) So happy!

I've bough 6 bags and 3 pairs of shoes and ate a lot at this night market.

I preferred this market to the better known Shilin market. There were less people yet it was still very crowded. I loved the bustle of the place and the food was great. Interesting range of shops.

This night market is less crowded than Shihlin night market, and it is so relaxed to stroll along this night market. Shihlin night market on the other hand is packed with people. However, there is no MRT station nearby, which can means transportation is a little problem.

Its quieter, less crowded but with all the selection you can find in Shilin? Since they are less harassed, store holders seem more pleasant too and less commercialized. There's a clothes market nearby and on the way from the station so it two bird with one stone and all that jazz

I can still taste the "snow ice"(english translation) and some sort of fried boa stuffed with meat that was only 10NT. It is sooooo crowded on the weekends you can barely walk, but on the weekdays it is much more relaxed and enjoyable.

This is a very straightforward night market. Pun intended. With two rows of stalls along the street, one just have to walk all the way down and do a U-turn at the end and walk all the way back down to cover all the stalls. This market had far less foreigners than most, which maintains a local charm. And the food. The food! This is a narrow market, with the typical human crunch of all the others.
