I have been to Bangkok several times and during this recent trip, I finally got to see Wat Arun. It was stunning! The craftmanship is amazing. It was very ornate. The view was breath taking once you make it up the steep stairs. Walking down those stairs was very scary. It was steep. I don't recommend walking up the temple... more

This is a must visit for first time visitor to Bangkok or even people who have not been there. If you are not planning on other stops along the Chao Phraya River, the best way to do is to go to end of BTS station (Silom Line) -- Saphan Taskin station and take any of the free hotel shuttle (Mandarin... more

Wat Arun, how beautiful it is. Everyone says you must go but until you see it upfront and personal you have no idea. Got there quite easily on the tourist Chao Praya River boat on a day ticket that is now BAHT150 for the day. You get off at stop 8, or Tha Tien Pier, you then get on another... more

Was a bit overcast and threatening rain in sept when I did the Klongs and Wat Arun tour. Had a very good guide/hostess, very informative and pleasant. As mentioned before watch those stairs. But check t-shirts and cold drinks available on site. Worth getting out of bed to do. more

This is one of the three must-see temples in Bangkok, and can easily be combined with Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew (in the Grand Palace complex). If you only have 1 day in Bangkok, I suggest that you finish all three, and you're good to go! Wat Arun is the most photographed structure in Bangkok (especially during sunset), and... more

Visiting Wat Arun is one of the highlights schedulle that should've been done in Thailand. Wat Arun is a historic landmark in a very huslte-bustle Bangkok city. It reflects the spirituality of Bangkok's people. There so many things to do in Wat Arun's Area which are (of course visiting the main temple), climb so many stairs to reach the upper... more

This is a great Wat to see up close. From afar, its very majestic and probably the most iconic image of Bangkok. To get there, simply take the Tha Tian express ferry across the Chao Phraya river. It will drop you off directly in-front of the Wat. There is an entry fee for non-Thais. Wat Arun is simply a sight... more

The Wat Arun temple in Bangkok is a must see. It is relatively easy to get to with the river ferries. Its architecture is amazing. The temple is made from 1000's of pieces of broken porcelain. It is a small temple and no more than 30 minutes is needed to see it all. Although shorts are allowed, women must cover... more
