We walked there quite easily (about 4 mins) from the National Stadium BTS station. The guided tour lasted about 35 mins and was educational and interesting. Eg the “mouse house” which served like a TV. The teak wood house and its interior design was gorgeous. It’s a pity we could not take photos. Entrance was 100 baht per adult and... more

I've been to Bangkok twice. I've been to the Jim Thompson House each time. The first time, my friends dragged me kicking and screaming. I really wasn't that excited to see some old house owned by a guy I had barely heard of. However, after a long slog through hot Bangkok, the house was a refreshing break from the loud... more

We have been to Bangkok very many times, but I never tire of visiting this spot, an oasis of calm in the frenetic activity of Bangkok. The entry cost is not excessive and the fact that this goes to the Bangkok School for the Blind should stop anybody complaining, surely. The architecture of the house, consisting of a number of... more

We visited this place on our last day in Bangkok and found the place extremley interesting. We didn't really know who this guy was and found the guided tour very interesting and endearing. We arrived just after 9am in the morning, from getting the Sky train to Siam and walked 5 minutes to it. It is in abit of an... more

I've been here several times, once alone and then with out-of-town guests. It's like stepping back into time and visiting a home and museum in one. The mysterious disappearance of silk trader Jim Thompson also adds extra dimension to the tour. Very beautiful, lush property. An exquisite experience. more

I was very pleasantly surprised at this place. It is off a small side street near to National Stadium BTS skytrain station. It is very easy to find. I only waited 5 minutes for a guided tour. It is a very calm environment and has small but lovely gardens. The exhibits are intersting to keep you occupied without being overwhelming... more

Walked to Jimmy's place from our hotel, Siam @ Siam Design Hotel. We are a family of four, two girls 12 and 10. Loved it, the stories of his life, the house itself and the chance to chill out in the lovely atmosphere of this oasis in the middle of Bangkok. We were only there for a couple of hours,... more

We walked to Jim Thompson House easily from our hotel, could see it from our room window (Pathumwan Princess). This is a beautiful oasis, with very good guides and ample time to wander around the house grounds before and after your tour. We took friends back there on our return to BKK, a week later and they too were very... more

We love this place. First visited on our second trip to bangkok- having 'done' the palace, wat po, wat arun etc etc the fist time around. Wow! It is peaceful and wonderful. Everytime we tour the house, we learn something new. Exhibition hall is also fun; this year they had an exhibition of burmese fabrics with some commentary about the... more

This house/museum is a must see while in Bangkok. The house is a showcase of traditional Thai design and provides a multitude of ideas for what to buy ELSEWHERE. The major complaint you often hear about this joint is that its hard to find. Nonsense! Your map is probably wrong and the tuk-tuk driver may want to take you someplace... more
