Bangkok's sky train is great for getting to certain places on the route but you can't get every where on it. They are extending it though, and when it goes to the new Suvarnabhumi airport it could make the airport transfer a lot quicker. The skytrain is our main way of public transport while in Bangkok. It's cheap, very fast, never crouded and stops at all the places we want to visit everytime we are there. The BTS is very useful and fairly easy to use. I've had taxi drivers refuse me and instead told me to take the BTS instead (to get there faster). During rush hours (3pm to 7pm), taking the BTS can often save you an hour or more of travel time. I'd love to see the BTS expanded. Also, it'd be easier... more

Excellent but does not venture far out at all. It sure beats the traffic though. It is an elevated subway that is inexpensive, very clean, air conditioned and easy to figure out. more

A good way to get around, just watch your bag as it gets quite crowded, but clean, cheap and efficient. Would be good if it covered more of Bangkok. more
