I stay there sometimes, and I get CDs there, cheap books. Many good places to eat, including food carts. I like to watch the people. They have a Burger King at one end, and you are near many tourist sites, and the lovely River Taxi.

Lots of fun bars and interesting things to see. Good people watching, exxcellent street vendor food.

Some flair of the backpackers remains, but its very touristic now- try paralell streets-they are more modern and have better restaurants

Always jam packed at nite. Full of tourists with many street vendors selling local foods (padthai, springroll), local souvenirs, tshirts, etc. Plus unusual things like fake ID card and exotic fried insects.
