There are so many low priced guesthouses in Khao San which is famous for backpackers. It's a good place to buy silver accessories and wooden accessories here, cheaper than other places in Bangkok. There are so many local pubs, restaurants and cafes. Don't expect that u can find a decent place here. It's a place for budget travellers!! more

This is backpacker territory for sure. Cheap accommodation, shops and stalls selling knock off t-shirts, CD's and fake ID's line the streets. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars offering cheap Western food and bargain drinks such as a bucket of Red Bull and vodka. Don't come here for shopping, it's rubbish and over-priced, go to one of the markets instead. This area is just full or tourists which I don't find very pleasant when you're travelling abroad, but it would be a good place to meet like-minded people and you can get lots of cheap eats. more

This is your drinking and partying street in Bangkok. It's really cheap, and you can buy beer on the street (illegally) or buy it legally in 7-11 till 2 am. After 2 am you can buy big bottles of Singha from buys with ice coolers. It's funny they flip down the ice cooler tops if they see the cops coming.... more

Khao San Road is a famous backpacker street in Bangkok. The street at night is filled with tourists from the West and as well as Japanese. We went there for a quick drink as well as night market shopping. The selection of stalls here is more quite different from the normal markets as they tend to be more backpackers friendly... more

Hot and sweaty but great for a bargin. The main st in bangkok, every one goes here, It even features in the film The beach. Fake bags and t-shirts and fishermens pants for very cheap if you try. it was my favourite thing in bangkok. theres loads of pubs down it to so you can people watch. good for every... more
