Baan Tawai artisans village is well worth spending a half day, or longer, to look around - the variety of furniture, soft furnishings, 'antiques', decorations, toys, collectibles, souvenirs and memorabilia is, seemingly, never-ending. Yep, Very nice place to go for holiday and shopping. the village of wood carving and handicrafts. You would enjoy seeing and shopping for products made of wood carvings, silverware, lacquer ware, hand woven textiles, basketry, and pottery.

We took a taxi to Ban Tawai from Chiang Mai - 800BHT for a 4 hour hire. What a fantastic place. Some of the artwork is just too big for anything but a grand hotel lobby. And some of it is so garish and wild you have to see it. Would you really want to buy a brass gilded peacock that's 3 meters across? Sure, there is cheap stuff here and there, but a lot of it... More
