When going to Chiang Mai, I knew that we had to do an elephant experience. I researched and decided that Ran-Tong was the best option for me, given my budget and how the elephants were treated. I am sooooo glad that I picked them.
The ride there is a little long but you are going on an adventure of a...

Thank you Wirote and Net for such an amazing day with Watong and her baby! I got into Chiang Mai and only had a couple of days there, so time was short. I called Ran-Tong at about 7:30 in the evening the night I arrived, and though they did not have a tour going the next day, they agreed to...

I booked one day here. I don't think I would have wanted to stay overnight as it's quite isolated. We were picked up at our hotel and spent about 1.5 hours getting out to the jungle where this elephant training camp is. The jungle is full of smoke unfortunately so it was a grey sky.

This was a great experience. My boyfriend and I did it and we loves every minute of it. The staff were really friendly especially the trainer. They make sure your comfortable with what your doing and that your enjoying yourself! Although the journey there was long and bumpy we all had a good laugh and was an experience!
I really enjoyed this day with the elephants. Unlike any other elephant day trip with Ran-Tong Elephant training you actually get to ride them to a waterfall and bath with them in a waterfall verses a river. The price was great compared to other places, and the lunch was very nice. The staff takes pictures of you the whole time...

The mahouts or trainers were very in tune with their elephants and watching them paint was a most interesting experience.
we had a good day wih a show a ride on a elephant and ox cart very relaxing
Average, transport was cramped and cold getting thrown about in the back of a pickup. Mixed feelings about the day it was interesting but weren't convinced about the treatment of the elephants, as were were told conflicting stories about how the elephants were kept and the guides appeared to take joy in taunting the animals.
Ran Tong is a really really great company to go with. It's about half the price of some of the other elephant treks but with all the same quality. Quick overview of the day:
"8-8:20" Pickup:
We were picked up at 8am sharp, as we were the first to be picked up. Then, they drove from hostel to hotel picking...
