Bangkok's Blue Elephant cooking class costs u at least THB3000, but there are a lot low priced cooking classes in Chiangmai! I joined the class in A-lot-of-Thai 2 yrs ago because of the good comments from some Hong Kong people. Their class costs u THB900 for 6-course only, with a colorful cook book!! The cook book even included the recipes... more

Before we came to Chiang Mai, we did some research on Trip Advisor to see which cooking class might be the best. 'A lot of Thai' wasn't the top rating, but all the reviews glowed about Yui and that made up our minds. We started with a trip around the local market - Yui guided us round telling us all... more

Roses are red Violets are blue Yui is the best thai cooking teacher that I ever knew Seriously though there are so many things that go to making a cooking class a successful for each participants. Somehow Yui knows how to bring all of them to the kitchen table. She's more than you ever imagine you'll get from your Thai... more

At A Lot of Thai, we learned how to prepare six different Thai dishes. But if you go, I strongly advise that you spend time with Yui, after the dishes have been prepared, and everyone is enjoying the food made by their own hands. Ask Yui about her past, her family, the people of Thailand, how she learned to cook,... more

One of the best days of my Thailand holiday was at A Lot of Thai. Yui is friendly, fun and passionate about food and wanting others to love it as well. I discovered all I was doing wrong with my home attempts at Thai cooking! Having a break in the middle of the day to go to the markets was... more

Sure the day was fun, the food was delicious and we've already impressed guests with our cashew chicken skills acquired at A Lot of Thai, but the really great thing about this school is Yui. She makes you feel like she's welcoming you to her home as a guest and friend, not just a paying client. You're missing out if... more

We had two weeks in Thailand and ate at many expensive restaurants. Of course we also had many roadside meals too. When I think back on our most memorable it had to be the day-long feast we had with A Lot of Thai! This was a great cooking class for the whole family. Classes are limited in size and it's... more

I am a solo traveller and really wanted to come to Chiang Mai for some cooking lessons. There are plenty of cooking schools there, but I believe this one to be the best. I spent 3 days with Yui, in the courtyard of her home. Yui has a great humor and makes you feel very welcome. She explains the ingredients... more

My husband and I spent one of our favorite days of our trip to Thailand at A lot of Thai. This is an experience that keeps on giving. We were in Chiang Mai in February, and have prepared several fantastic meals for our friends since we've returned home. We are reminded of the wonderful time we had during our day... more

We were so glad we chose A Lot of Thai as the cooking school we attended while in Chiang Mai! A small school run at a private residence by a wonderful cook, teacher and humanitarian Yui, with the help and support of her husband Kwan along with occasional guest appearances by their two young children. We were picked up at... more
