Felt a bit bad for the elephants as the handlers used sharp hooks to control them. Went on the bamboo raft and enjoyed it, until the end where they left us to walk 10K back to the elephant place, thankfully managed to hitch hike!

Although seeing the elephants was truly amazing, and although i would highly recommend people go to see the elephants and DEFINATELY to contribute to their drive to raise money to build an elephant clinic in Chiang Mai, I think everyone should be aware that despite us Westerners belief that elephants have tough skin etc. it IS NOT OK for the...

We visited this elephant camp with the guide Mr Joy. It was the first stop for the day. We spent the first part of the stop here interacting with the mahouts and the younger elephants. Who would think that such huge animals can be trained to do such fabulous tricks. Dont forget to take your small notes for the elephants to buy...

Visited this as part of a trip to thailand, and it was by far the most memorable part of the trip! between the Elephant show, the elephant ride, bamboo raft ride, and ox cart trip that lead to the luncheon, there is a ton to do here. The prices are very reasonable as well

The tour to the Village is a common day-trip pushed by local travel agencies and hotel concierges, and at 1,000B is fabulous value, as it is a full-day of activities including transport...
