Went to Lamai in June/July 2009 . Stayed at the samui sense ,right on the beach, it had every thing to offer & more ,really nice swimming pool, bar facing out on to the beautiful beach. I stayed in Lamai for 3 days back in Aug '08 and totally loved it. Stayed at the Seabreeze Place resort along the main road, and from our hotel, one can just walk up and down the streets and experience a true island vacation in Thailand. Lamai's vibrant and festive. So far my favorate place in Thailand (as a whole Island)........sand,sea and sun. This town is busy most of the day and night..... super resturants, good nightlife (the sex industry is here but not as prolific as some areas). Good shopping (although Chaweng is better).
