Stayed at Renaissance Resort and Spa at Mai Khao beach. The beach is just perfect for a peaceful relaxation. Its undeveloped, very natural and virgin. Renaissance has loungers for you to use. The beach has limited/no f&b or activities unless you rent some kayaks from the hotel you're staying.

Too far north and the beach drops off very steeply into the sea. Not the best place to swim in the sea.

I found this beach by accident but its now my favorite. I don't like the long walk back up to the parking but that helps keep it hidden and more secluded. some nice restaurants and not too much hassle from local vendors.

Of all the beaches on the west of Phuket, this is the most boring. The beach is narrow and the depth sudden. The current and wave can get too strong to swim safely in. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Mai Khao and loved the entire area. Mai Khao is the opposite of Patong, it is clean, no people trying to sell you stuff you don't need and NO Crowds.
