The pictures of Coral Island are very different to what it actually looks like. Its an over-crowded island with nothing on it and absolutely NO coral. I could not wait to leave, It's such a tourist trap!!!! more

We hired a long boat for 1000 THB for the whole day, (probably could have gotten it for 800) and made our way out to Coral Island's Freedom Beach. Having done a number of snorkel and dive trips, Freedom Beach was weak and I wouldn't recommend it as Thailand has so much better to offer = Similans. Going to check... more

We went to Koh Hae (Coral Island) because we were in Phuket during the off season and the sea was rough everywhere else. Apparently the monsoon doesn't affect the sea on this island at all so you can visit all year round and have some quality snorkelling/swimming time.
