Halong was the highlight of our journey; the guide takes us around Halong bay on a tremendously furnished boat. The dinner and lunch were more than anyone could possibly eat and exceptionally tasty. Halong Black Pearl Junk, the cruise company, is fantastic and makes our trip as amazing as the surroundings!

We spent an overnight on a junk in Halong Bay. It was a wonderful experience. The junk was very comfortable. The rooms were nicely appointed. The crew were welcoming and solicitous. I loved Halong bay but this boat was no where near the pictures - it was grubby, flaking and falling apart - the life rafts looked ancient too. The bedroom was the only place that was half decent. Thoroughly enjoyable trip with one exception, the visit to the limestone cave was chaotic with too many people in a small space. However, Halong Bay is such a lot nicer than imagined. We will be staying on the overnight junk tour next time around.
