The tour will include actively engaging in and learning about community development by providing a microloan to a woman we are going to meet, a traditional lunch and a selection of the following activities: learning about and even trying rice and tomato farming, a bicycle ride through the countryside, a walk through the beautiful forests, trying your hand at traditional fishing, visiting the location of a mystical historical legend and exploring a temple complex! « less

Great break from the hustle and bustle if Hanoi to see how families live in the country. Very interesting to here about how the NFP works and how it's bettering the community. Highly recommend it.

Visiting the rural village of Phu Minh with Bloom Microventures was a wonderful break from the noise, traffic and crowds of Hanoi. Our tour guide, Ly Tran, is an idealistic young Vietnamese woman who is fluent in English. We went in a small van with two other visitors, an Australian guy and an Argentine woman. Just getting to know two... More

My husband and I spent a week long vacation in Hanoi & Ha Long Bay. We spent lots of time walking the streets of the city and seeing the attractions but the most breathtaking, life altering experience was our Bloom Day Tour. We were unavailable on a Saturday and made advance arrangements for a private tour. Our tour guide, Loan,... More

We travelled in Vietnam with our 3 children aged 16, 14 & 10 & one of the highlights of our trip was the Bloom Microventures Day Tour. Part of the tour fee goes towards financing a microfinace loan. We had lots of questions about how this loan worked & the children particularly learned a lot about the purpose of these... More

This day tour came highly recommended by a Vietnamese-Australian friend and it certainly lived up to its billing. We took a private tour as we were not in Hanoi on Sunday when the group tours go. The trip into the country is a wonderful contrast to the noise and bustle of Hanoi and we felt quite privileged to get a... More

With only a few days in Hanoi we booked this tour instead of halong bay as we didn't like the thought of four hours in a bus twice in one day. This trip was fantastic. We were met by two extremely competent guides with excellent English at the opera house and driven in a small minibus to the hills outside... More

Not so much a 'tour' but an opportunity to learn about microfinance and international development at the coalface as well as meet locals and discover the challenges they face making a living in an isolated province of Vietnam. Fun, thought-provoking and an opportunity to make a positive contribution to sustainable development in Vietnam.

We booked our tour via the Internet (on the Bloom website) prior to coming to Hanoi. We had some email exchanges and also worked out what we could take those we were visiting. You get to note the things you would like to see/do. We said we wanted to see the farming practices and also go to a local school.... More

We spent a wonderful month in Vietnam in October-November 2012, and were privileged both through our travel arrangements and Vietnamese friends to connect with several local people and learn about their culture and daily lives. A highlight was a guided visit from Hanoi to a village in Hoa Binh province that was recommended by one of our friends. It was... More

A wonderful day and a tremendous organisation trying to make a difference to people's lives. A great way to see some aspects of rural life and meet local people away from tourist zones. The micro loan concept has great potential.
