This museum is within walking distance of many hotels and very close to the Reunification Palace. You need 1 to 2 hours to see it. We did not find this museum top be a propaganga tool. This war museum is very interesting and there is lots to see. It is very informative, so well worth a visit but it is also devestatingly sad which means you leave with the thought that war never seems to actually achieve anything and there are far more casualties than you ever can imagine. more

A real fascinating view of the war from other side and not the normal western side. An eery place to visit, not like a normal tourist destination but shows you up close and personal about the attrocities of war. Real eye opener more

Ok so we all know the score - The US Army felt threatened for a change and so decided to launch an offensive on North Vietnam. Agree with previous reviewers on exhibits being a rather one-sided slice of history, but still should not be missed. War history buffs will enjoy the different tanks, planes and weapons exhibited. Pictures and videos in the main building show the tragedy inflicted on the Vietnamese by the American, French and Chinese soldiers. Propaganda or not, it is still very disturbing... more

A few people here insist that the museum shows both sides. That is patently false. Like everything else in Vietnam, it is a censored and highly regulated piece of propaganda.
