The soviet regime fell before they had finished this huge, frankly bonkers combination of stairs, fountains, statues and an escalator. You'll be very glad to get on the escalator to travel up the mountain once you've climbed the steps once- god knows what the locals did all the years it was turned off. Whole area has been renovated and completed... More

This is a striking use of a defunct Soviet-era site, with quirky exhibitions presented under the patronage of a wealthy Armenian-American. The best gallery contains his personal choices - including a model of J Pierrpont Morgan's private yacht, about 20 feet long - extraordinary.

this used to be a monument of sovieyt army but because of the political changes it became a impresive monument of Yerevan. That is a great for the afternoon walk and as a relaxing place. Clambing to the top is a bit long and tiring but worht an effort. Views from the top are really nice. A lot of local... More

I had never had much interest in the art of glass but I am now a convert after a visit to the glass museum at the Cascade. Just a stunning display of the art of glass beautifully presented and curated. A must see on a visit to Yerevan.

this is the one thing to see in yerevan. its beautiful and doubly so at night. the art gallery is fairly good, brilliant for yerevan, and has 3 free galleries to peruse. the rest of yerevan is pitiful in comparison.

Very nice park in the city center with a beautiful landscape design, as well as there are many statues in the style of modern art.

It's a perfect place for a hangout in the park with modern art pieces around, as well as for the view of Yerevan. The concert hall situated on top is a perfect place to enjoy a marvelous modern-classical-folk-jazz music, the magnificent view of mount Ararat and a glass of wine. There are also very interesting exhibitions, of which I am... More

I'm just a few feet from the Cascade now; it's awfuly quiet on this freezing February day. Walking up the steps, or down them, is a bit dangerous: they haven't really been well-swept (I still walk up reguarly, I like it that much). The time to go is in the summer, when the cafes come alive around the Cascade and... More
