Many of you have commented on the price difference for locals and foriegners to enter the Zoo. Please note that in most developing countries this is the case. In India for example foriegners have to pay INR750/- (About US$15)to see the TAaj Mahal, where locals pay merely INR15/-. I visited the zoo on the 13th Jan 2009. First off, the entrance fee is ridiculous. They charge 50 Rupees for a local and 2000 Rupees for tourists (+500 rupees if you want to use a camcorder). If your sensitive, don't go. One or two aspect are well done. The aquarium for example. But in the main, very cramped cages. Chained and distressed elephants. The promise of new elephant facilities dates 03, but little evidence of progress. Will; hopefully, follow up with photos. more
