Amazing frescoes - up there with the dark church at goreme open air museum - more context to the underground rooms than the underground city at derinkuyu - a real treat and a must if you are anywhere close to nigde - one of our highlights of an already fantastic holiday

Gumusler Monastery is a bit off the track, but if you are driving from Cappadocia to Antakya or Adana, this small monastery is worth a short visit. Carved into the mountain, the cave dwellings of this 10th century monastery are certainly not inviting for their comfort.
