We stumbled upon the class at the last minute while in Sultanahmet and were able to attend the very next day, however it's probably better to secure your spot in advance. The class size was good for the size of the kitchen and I was happy with cleanliness of the facility. There was a nice range of dishes that we... more

I received an e-mail from Mehmet, the hotel's General Manager, shortly after booking. He offered us the oportunity to take a cooking class scheduled for the morning after our arrival. We had been in Turkey for two weeks already and had eaten and cycled our way across the Western and Southern coasts so were somewhat familiar with the cuisine. Thinking... more

The class was great fun. Russians, British and Irish participants we donned outr aprons and began. The kitchen was spotless and the instruction easy to follow. Mehmet was the kindest of hosts, he translated and explained and encouraged us. We were all delighted to find that after all, we had managed to prepare and cook a five course Turkish meal... more

A very interesting, instructive and enjoyable cooking lesson. The hands on cooking of Turkish food was well organized, good facilities, a good instructor and good interpreter, fresh ingredients, and the right size class ( 8 ). I'd like to do another class for different foods. Ron Greenwald San Francisco, California more

While staying at the charming Sarnic Hotel, my two friends and I had the time of our life creating delicious Turkish dishes. What fun to be in the kitchen with the chef, other quests and Mehmet, the hotel manager, who translated all with a great sense of humor. This is a hands on cooking experience and not just a demonstration.... more

We had so much fun in the kitchen with Mehmet and the wonderfully gifted chef at the Sarnic Hotel. In addition to learning how to prepare a whole Turkish menu, from soup, breads, entree and dessert, we also learned about the local ingredients and many different ways to use, and preserve them. My favorite dish was the warm walnut stuffed figs with... more

One of my first activities after arriving in Istanbul was taking the cooking class at the Sarnic Hotel. I made reservations through their website before leaving for Turkey, and received a prompt response. The class was wonderful--although I have been cooking Turkish food for years, I learned several new techniques and twists on favorite recipes. Additionally, the class was an... more
