Very useful with the guide. I learned a lot which I may otherwise have missed. She was knowledgable and helpful with tips as we went along. Be prepaired that a full day can be a bit intense though.

I walked around Historic/Down town area of Europe side of Istanbul area. I walked along Tram track road to not miss the road as the side roads are confusing. This is the only way to see culture and different parts of Istanbul. We were warmly greeted by locals. We tasted lot of local food varieties while walking

Walking in streets of Istanbul is a great experience. We walked around almost all of the Sultanahmet district and parts of Taksim area. It was a wonderful experience.

One can walk freely around the old town. We walked up throufh the shopping district to the large mosque - really interesting local colour

It is not possible to walk safely in Istanbul safely due to the crowd and the absence of the sidewalks for the people and families especially with young children. Istanbul streets are not the family friendly places for the families with kids.

Walking through the streets of of historic areas is the best way to experience the flavor of Istanbul. Useless to waste your time in that street, no use to go, and there are no historic or valuable places to visit
