Old Town is beautiful and interesting . The sights of Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the colors and smells of the Grand Bazaar were incredible. Wish I was there!
You can walk here for hours, and everywhere you see nice buildings and you meet frfiendly people.
Take good walking shoes to visit Istanbul. Walking can be challenging at times. The streets and walkways have uneven pavement. The Old Town has such a relaxed feel to it. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, and the streets are wide with lots of places to eat - outside as well as in.
It's hard to visit old Istanbul without finding something either charming, fascinating, or simply delightful in some way on a very regular basis.
loved it but was wet, so would like to see it in better weather
Don't really know the difference. the oldest part of Istanbul is Sultanahmet which is stunning and the only place to be to see all the sites if you don't have a lot of time.
