We were excited at the prospect of attending an authentic whirling dervish ceremony but were terribly disappointed. With only a couple of rather tame choreographed movements, which were painfully slow, I wondered where the "whirling" was! The Sufi music backing the dance performance, particularly the vocal accompaniment was professional but for 25 euros each it was a rip off!

As a tourist form the subcontinent having exposure to Sufi music this was a huge disappointment. Felt like I was watching a school programme. Devoid of variation there was a single step in the entire dance
