Dont go with the touts......just pay 20 lira at the ticket booth near to the galata bridge and go all the way to the 'end of the line'. Get off, have a fish dinner, and then come back. It is cheap, relaxing and a fabulous way to see the city scape. Tips.... 1. We got our ticket an hour before... more

More than a bit disappointed in this part of our visit to Istanbul, after the rave reviews here. The boat is VERY crowded, and it is hard to see as much as you'd like out of the small windows. It's important to note that half of the windows do not open, so if you are taking pictures you will have... more

We took the IDO ferry "tour" along the Bosphorus. Great value and a great way to get out of the busy, sometimes overwhelming Istanbul city center for the day. The boat leaves around 10:30 from the docks near the Galata Bridge. There are about 25 outdoor seats and plenty of room inside. I would arrive early (by 10:00) for one... more

the trip up the bosphorus is often the highlight of a trip to Istanbul. Catch the ferry at Eminonu and sit back and relax as the boat wends its way up the body of water that connects the Black sea to the Marmara. You may end up running back and forth from one side of the boat to the other,trying... more

Walking or driving by boat along he bosporus Shore gives a good picture about the cities landmark. Do it during transformation from sun to sun-down, when all the lights starts blinking... very romantic! more

Tickets for the ferry are sold at the ticket booth closest to the Galata bridge at the Eminonu tram stop. Cost for the ferry was 12.50 YTL per person in May 2008. This is a relaxing and beautiful boat ride up the Bosphorus. Get there early! We arrived 15-20 mintues before the scheduled departure of the ferry, and all the... more

I highly recommend taking this trip up the Bosphorus! On a beautiful day, it is a nice change of pace from the city sights. A lot of information has already been provided by the previous two reviewers of the Bosphorus ferry ride so I will just add a few tips of my own: *Definitely get there early (at least 1... more

Take the public ferry from Eminou Terminal 3 (down near Golata Bridge) and cruise along the Bosphorus. 90 minutes of sheer delight to the end of this busy channel stopping on the Asian side wher eyou must climb to the castle for great views before lunching back at the water front...and then 90 stunning minutes cruising back to the Golden... more

The Bosphorus Tour ferry sails north from Istanbul, up the Bosphorus, almost to the Black Sea, then back again. Along the way it stops at the small ferry ports that dot the coast, letting you get off at whichever suburbs and villages you care to visit. The landscape you see is wooded hills, dilapidated waterside estates out of a different... more
