Galata tower is a great place to see a panoramic view of Istanbul. You can either take the tram to Galata or walk across the Galata Bridge which crosses the Golden Horn. The Galata area is rather hilly so if you walk, I recommend good walking shoes. The line was rather long but moved rather quickly and was worth the... More

As mentionned aerlier (Dolmabahçe Palace - same rules !!!!) I consider this as a discrimination towards foreign citizens..... I cannot accept such things happening in... More

No question this is an important landmark so you should definitely visit this area. Rather than paying to go up to the top of the Tower, you can go and have a relaxing drink on the Terrace of the Anemone Hotel next door. In the basement of the hotel they have an amazing Turkish tasting centre for wine and cheese.... More

Walk up that hill, take that elevator and prepare to be astonished by the allround view from the top terrace that goes around the tower. Even the view from the bathroom windows is incredible!
