Though it became too crowded in last years, Beyoğlu has always been the ad-hoc center of Istanbul. You can have a visit any time of day. There are 100s of bars, restaurants and clubs. Very good place especially for univ students.

This area is great if you have done the historical things and perhaps want shopping or Turkish atmosphere. Some super back streets with odd shops and cafes, hamams etc. Great for a wander.

I think you can find anything you want there. shopping centers, malls, historical places, cafes, cinemas..
