I did not find reference to this in any of the major tour books, or websites, specifically. It is a bridge which links both sides of Istanbul, really both continents. A cool setting in day or night time. I took the tram across the bridge and then walked back. Underneath the bridge are about 25 restaurants selling mostly seafood with... More

After travelling up the Bosphorus, we stopped for dinner at one of the many restaurants under the Galata Bridge. It was an interesting location to eat, with fishing lines constantly being cast from the bridge above and occasionally being pulled in with fish on the hook. Watching all the craft on the water at the busy end of a day... More

If you stay in Istanbul, you should not miss, frankly spoken: you cannot miss the famous Galata Bridge. The Bridge itself with hundreds of fishermen to the left and the right of the upper bridge level and dozens of restaurants on the lower level you must have experienced. Not to forget the area around the Bridge: a lot of piers... More

It's a bridge across the Golden Horn - how interesting could that be? Well, quite as it turns out. First, there are the eateries on the lower level. Secondly, the fishermen and trams on the upper - photo opportunities abound. And thirdly, it leads to Eminonu square, with the New Mosque, the spice bazaar and the delicious fish-in-a-bun eateries on... More

Don't even try to walk along the waterside (underneath the bridge)...EVERY restaurant had "barkers" ceaselessly verbally assaulting us trying to get us to come into their over-priced little dives. I was able to make it through the Bazaar, surviving the sales pitches with a smile...but these guys were literally trolls under the bridge. This was the worst part of an... More

You should walk on it and cross it. If the weather is not raining it is a unique experience.
