If you love mosaics even half as much as I do you MUST see this museum. No doubt you will pass it if you expect to visit the first line tourist attractions in the Sultanahmet area. Even if you don't particularly enjoy viewing mosaics, this museum is remarkable nonetheless for the large, complete scenes which were common on the floors... More

These mosaics are the original pavements from the early Ottoman period. Beautifully laid and together with the ample information supplied one can only just wonder at the splendour of the time. Enjoy the quiet after the buzz of the Bazaar. A small fee is charged but worth it.

The Mosaic Museum is easy to find among the shops in the Arasta Bazaar. Although it's small, I find it a great museum as they've tried to restore many of the mosaic floors found from the ancient palaces from the Byzantium times in the Sultanahmet area. If you have time, just stop in!

Interesting only for those who don´t go to Izmir, the true capital of mosaics. In my opinion, you also don´t need to go that (just reasonable) museum to have a good sample of the world famous turkish mosaics, as it is very easy to see and experience in most of the mosques.

Kind of tucked away, apparently not so popular museum has good variety of mosaics, scenes of people and animals, not religious themes.

We thought this was a lovely little museum and underpublished in the guidebooks especially as it housed one of the longest (if not the longest) mosaics in the world. The main mosaic was fifteen years in the restoring and a collaboration between many international experts . It is one of the most spectacular mosaics I have seen and well worth spending... More
