Walk around and see the restored wooden houses from the Ottoman period. Most of them are run as hostels. Good location for photography.
I did not realise at the onset that I was walking on Sogukcesme Sokak. There was this sudden change from normal dwellings to rich, ornate colourful mansions. Mansions graced by dignitaries. There were special security guards just manning this street.
It is the street which is located lots of old historical houses located... Çelik Gülersoy renovated the all building in that street and open it to public..Also, there is alibrary , hotel and restaurants inside of thes street.. When you walk there , you will feel like that you are in 1700..
If you really want to walk on historical street this street right one. Between the Topkapı Palaca and Gulhane... With high stone walls and flowers... All buildings made from woods... You will take many photos front of the historical doors.
Nice and short street, but worth to see an old Ottoman lifetime. Now used as hotels. Near to Topkapı Palace.

I think the dwellings are owned by the government. Whether they are or not, they are all meticulously taken care of on the outside. The entire street is like the pearl in the clam shell.
