Famous Galatasaray Hamam is one of the bests Hamams in Istanbul
save your money, save your temper, save your time ... and don't go there
I paid almost $85 for a massage, scrub and a hammam but I was delayed until my time almost finished and had a quick service.
The guy kept asking for a tip when he didn't even start !!
The place smells awful and the ventilation is...

We went to this hamam today as we were in the Beyoglu area. It is outrageously overpriced for the facilities. It is very run down and yet charges five star prices. The women's side is like an old Victorian school building: peeling paint, plastic covered narrow tables, 'cubicles' which offer no privacy. The woman who scrubbed me was pleasant, unlike...

I like to visit the hamamans whem I am in Istanbul and this was my first visit to Tarihi Galatasaray Hamam. Let me tell you -- STAY AWAY. I went to the women's side and the bath attendants looked like they were in the 70's and 80's. all nice enough, but a harsh view, and they were very rough, yanking...

Let's not beat around the bush, this hammam is a ripp off with no pretence to even hide it. It is a disgrace to the Turkish hospitality and has you end up stressed, more frustrated and feeling upset than before you went in... Not really the result one aims for when going for a hammam.
On recommendation of my hotel's...

Ultimately, it was quite an experience. The women there old, ugly, rude. Many of them didnt have all their teeth on. They put us in our dressing rooms. The...

I think you must understand that a Hammam in Istanbul is must a tourist trap and to pay 65 euros for this in Turkey is simply insane.
I first went to this hammam in the early 1970's when tourism was not so massive as it is now and few westerners ventured into these places. Then it cost nothing (30 cents)...

I came in on a Sunday afternoon and asked for the "Pasha Service" (full washing treatment and oil massage). The manager told me they are fully booked and I shall come back at 8PM. So I did. The price wasn't cheap: 65 EUR, but I thought it's fair enough for a 1,5 hors treatment.
How wrong I was. The service...

I have read some reviews here and almost all of them blame Galatasaray Hamam with having high prices and ripping customers off. Now the prices, as far as I know, are inscribed at the entrance in EUROs, so the visiting tourist friends would have no trouble calculating the exact worth of the services inside. The prices are as goes -approximately:...

Firstly, can I say that the address on Trip Advisor does not correspond with the actual address of this ancient Hammam. The address is Turnacibasi Sokak 24. My friend and I had been disappointed by our first Turkish Bath experience at the nearby Firuzaga Hamami, which was cheap and nasty. So we thought we'd splash out on a more upmarket...
