Get your hotel to prebook this. Ring tel: 02165538000.48 hours ahead with passport details. You will be going into army barracks so you have to be checked. This is an experience. The museum is divided into two rooms. To be honest, the museum part in itself is not so much, and is done in less than 30 minutes but the procedure to get there is an experience. The first room depicts warscenes in full sized bronze statues. Reeally really cool. The second room, shows where florence rested.... More

During a recent trip to Istanbul (April 2008), we decided to go off the beaten path and visit the Flo Museum. Florence Nightingale is known as the founder of modern nursing because of her work caring for the wounded of the Crimean War. It is not generally known that she did this in Istanbul, and that her surgery and private quarters, with the original furnature are preserved as a museum. within the Turkish Army headquarters.
