It's such an experience! I don't recommend going to a public beach though as the changing rooms were gross! As others have said it will sting if you have any cuts; ladies don't even shave your legs! Other than that, it was great fun!

Everyone on the beach was an adult the day we were there, but they all behaved like kids. Floating was fun, but smearing mud all over was even more so. There are showers on the beach to rinse and hot showers back near the entrance. Not to be missed. It is toxic though and one should be careful not to... More

If you are a tourists or Jewish Israeli you are allowed to go in no questions asked.Palestinians on the other hand are turned away just for being Palestinian.Spend your money on a place where all human beings are accepted & no one is turned away.Disgusted that in this day and age they are still those that believe in segregation.

Very exciting location in the desert. One of the most unusual environmental places which I have ever seen. Good weather and warm water almost all year long, provides great possibility to enjoy floating on the water like a cork. Ideal for renting a car and drive along the seaside from Israeli side, so you can cach all the interesting locations... More

Great fun to float in the dead sea. A few tips -- if you go to the public beach, there are changing stations and outdoor showers to get the salt off, however you need to bring your own towel. There are many other places that offer lockers, towels, mud station and other services for a reasonable fee. So check out... More

Went to the dead sea during our pilgrimage in the Holyland with a group of elderly and some middle aged people. For someone who doesnt know how to swim, it was a fun experience floating on water on my own. But be careful if you have wounds or cuts because it can be painful as the water is very salty.... More

Floating in the Dead Sea is a fun experience. The water tastes very bad but feels great to swim in. Not your typical sea water. There are many beaches to choose amongst and it is advisable to check where to go in this region.
